Observations in my Life: Forbidden Love’s Gentle Moments

Location: Dunkin Donuts

Observed: Couple seated at the table next to me.

He leaned across the table, his snapback casting a shadow upon his eyes. His boyfriend lovingly raised it, planting a grazing kiss upon his mouth.Β

“Would you…?” One gestured to the other, urging him to take a sip from his mocha iced coffee. A smile crossed his partner’s face, his eyes vibrant with adoration and charm.

“I’d love some,” he replies in a coarse whisper. He slides the drink slowly across the table, and his partner takes a sip, his tongue dancing across the tip of the straw. He purrs a “thank you” under his breath, and their eyes meet. It seems almost as if they can see nothing past each other. Almost as if the world is a dream meant for just them, and their all-consuming love.
