(Belated) Sassy Saturdays!: BYOD (Bring Your Own Drama!)

BYOD

Welcome back, ladies, to another Sassy Saturday (posted on Monday, oops) and today it’s all about bringing your own drama, and by drama, I don’t mean the stuff you’re trying to avoid. I’m talking about dressing to impress! It’s the Winter season and we’re getting in the swing of the holiday madness that is December. I’d like to think that Winter gives quite a lot of wiggle room for fashion as you can finally bring out those knee highs and cozy sweaters, despite Florida’s seasonal mood swings. During Winter, I like to transition my closet, which contains clothes meant for all types of weather, into a creative, stylish holiday wardrobe. If you’re in college, like me, it can be difficult to spend money, especially on new clothes, and because the season is so short-lived here, there’s absolutely no reason why you can’t work around your Summer wardrobe! Plus, Winter gives you a chance to create dramatic, fantastic looks from old favorites, just by switching up a few pieces here and there!

During this time, I’m especially keen on bringing out my boot collection. Although I wear them throughout the year (for style purposes rather than comfort), this is the only time when they’re particularly comfortable to wear, as the heat is dying down to let reign a cool, dry breeze.

My absolute favorite pair of boots are my all black “AirWair” Doctor Martens combat boots (pretty sure that link is the correct model of the boots I own, and if not, check out these awesome boots that could be my boots’ doppelganger!), with bouncy soles. They’re a bit on the expensive side, but they’re quality leather boots and it takes actual, purposeful effort to destroy them, as they are resistant to oil among many other potential messes! Also, if you ever decide to dish out some moolah to purchase a pair of Doctor Martens boots, make sure that you give them some time to be broken into. The leather is hard and they may be pretty uncomfortable at first. I bought mine “used” (I use quotations because they were bought, although they had never actually been worn), and it took me several months (yes, MONTHS) and lots of fuzzy socks to get these bad boys NOT to hurt. So if you’re planning to buy them for that awesome Ugly Sweater Party you’re hosting next week, think again or plan for next year’s holiday fiesta. They’re quite beautiful though and I find the combat boot look to be a sexy twist on the boot trend. I like to wear mine with dresses and tights to balance out the masculinity and femininity of my look! And yes, below are my actual boots! I’ve had them for about 4 or 5 years now, give or take, and they’re still looking and feeling great, besides a few minor scratches. A few scratches never hurt anyone!

Another trend I’m really digging is the use of the peacoat, a trend that has existed for quite some time now but awakens more prominently during the colder months! I bought one at a thrift store a while back for $10 thinking that I would use it on a “needed basis” and immediately became obsessed with its versatility. Despite the nasty weather in my college city, I’ve managed to wear my peacoat from Fall all the way to the beginning of Winter, pairing it with colorful tights, girly booties, and frilly dresses! The one that I purchased is actually very similar to the one below, and I’m not quite sure of the brand of my actual peacoat due to being home for the Winter Break! But take my word for it, though, it’s the most beautiful, comfortable coat I’ve had thus far! What I like best about it is the fact that it’s such a structured coat and looks quite formal, but when it’s used, it feels as soft and movable as a hoodie! It’s deceiving in all the right ways.

img-thing

I think my next peacoat purchase will be a lot more like the one below, but definitely without the fuzz. Not a big fan of hair on my coats, other than maybe faux fur on a hooded jacket. The structure of the coat is pretty and cheetah print, when worn tastefully, can look truly amazing. I’d probably wear this with an all black get up to bring up the drama factor and to let the coat do all the talking.

During these months (and any months when I’m at home really!), I also love to break in my heels, which I happen to have many of. These heels are Madden Girl Karlla Polka Dot Pumps and they are one of the sassiest pairs of heels I own. I know they weren’t made like this with the intention to look like holiday shoes, but they remind me very much of a combination of Christmas and the ’50s style (I dig the polka dots)! I was trying to find a link for you guys to check out the shoes, but for some odd reason, these shoes are sold out and out of stock everywhere. They were, however, sold at DSW for some time, and may come back at some point. I also thrifted these shoes, which makes them a million times better, as I paid barely anything for practically new heels. I enjoy wearing my Karlla pumps with black skinny jeans (or my basic skinny jean leggings) and dresses with similar color palettes. They’re so incredibly comfortable for being heels (if you’re trying heels for the first time or are a little iffy about getting heels, check out Steve Madden’s shoes) and I love that these shoes speak volumes all on their own, let alone with other pieces. They are beautiful, great quality heels, but then again, they are Steve Madden.

And finally, we have the trend of the infinity scarf which I have yet to buy but am tempted to purchase. I’m all for simple on the days when I’m dressed down and I find that infinity scarves can easily give a casual look a more put together, dressed up feel. They can be purchased at practically any clothing store at this time of year and are usually not more than $20, which makes them a cheap and efficient buy. Forever 21 has infinity scarves of all patterns and colors for fairly cheap, so if you’d like to check that out and potentially get one for yourself or someone you love this holiday season, here you go. You’ve hit the motherload of infinity scarves. Go nuts.

infinity-scarves

If I were to go through with my infinity scarf purchase, I’d probably get something geometric and dramatic like the one below! Black and white pieces are so versatile and the patterns is incredibly eye catching. I could imagine wearing this piece within countless of my own looks.

13 Reasons I’m Thankful this Thanksgiving!

thanksgiving-2

It’s that time of year again. The time where we all come together, with friends and family, to celebrate the things that we are most grateful for. Lately, I feel like there are so many wonderful, incredible things in my life that deserve to be noted, but because this is “13 reasons” and not “300 reasons”, I’ll try to limit it to the very best of the best!

47985

1. I finally have my camera charger back! Silly me, and this is going to sound really bad, but when I moved to college for this semester once again, I forgot a tiny little thing that I would need for my camera: the charger. So I had everything, from lenses, to carrying bags, to my DSLRs that I love so very much, and no charger. For either camera. But since I’m back home and spending this week having quality time with the fam, I was able to charge my camera! It’s been way too long, and I’m going to be pretty snap happy for these next couple of months.

2. We always have the best, most delicious coffee at home. It’s one of the little things I miss when I’m away at school. I don’t even know what it is that makes it so much better. Perhaps the fact that it tastes a little stronger, even when it’s sweetened? It’s like crack. That must be the secret ingredient or something…

blogging_loudly-10541

3. I have time to blog again! With all the craziness of finals week arriving and the closure of my courses in combination with everything else, I have had absolutely no time to write, and I’ve missed it. I do it for you guys because I know you enjoy my work, but I especially enjoy it because in most cases, it feels quite therapeutic to me. Stay tuned for all the new posts coming soon! THEY’RE COMING.

giphy (1)

4. All the positive feedback I’ve received as of late. Even with me being busy and not having as much time lately to write for you guys everyday, you’ve still been so loving and supportive. I’ve barely lost any followers and subscribers, and it means a lot to me that you guys have stuck around!

crazy_man_in_bed___animation_gif_by_gturbo5-d67ad4g

5. Sleeping in my own bed. It’s a pile of fluffy sheets and copious amounts of blankets that feel a lot like what heaven would feel like if it were a place to sleep. No bed compares to my bed at home, not to knock my bed in my apartment that highly resembles the hardness of blanketed concrete. But yeah.

Im-so-happy-GIF

6. The weather is just gorgeous! I came from school, raining ferociously and wind blowing over bikes, to back home, sunny, breezy, and clear-sky-ed. It’s not even boiling hot. It’s a dream, really.

1314194350658

7. After several months of being away from my family, nothing is more exciting than getting to spend time with them again. I’ve been here for only a couple of days so far and it’s been amazing. I look forward to countless more memories in this week alone, err….these next few days, the last few days…. before I have to head back to take my exams! *sigh*

The child within me weeps at the thought of leaving them and going back to my responsibilities. D*mn you, adulthood.

giphy (2)

8. This is the first time I’ve had an ounce of free time, and I’m clinging to them desperately. My major is definitely for the sleepless, but these breaks help me refocus. I’m keeping my eyes on the prize, even if they’re watery and red from tiredness.

I don’t have a ton of time, but I sure am a professional napper and cryer at this point.

giphy (3)

9. I have access to all my pretty clothes (and BEANIES!) that I didn’t get to bring when I moved away to college. It feels like I have brand new clothes every time I come home because there are so many pieces that I haven’t seen in a while. It gives me inspiration to try new outfits and rewear the clothes that I already have!

See that gif? Yeah, that’s me at college, staring in despair at my overflowing yet empty closet. NOTHING TO WEAR. NOTHING TO WEAR AT ALL.

tumblr_m0e57jpmmv1rqvc0ko1_r1_500

10. I can finally catch up on my latest guilty pleasure and the most successful procrastination technique I’ve discovered thus far within this semester: the Vampire Diaries series. It’s pretty dangerous when I have time to marathon on Netflix and when Netflix actually has to ask if I’m still there. Someone send help (Is there a life alert for Netflixers?!)!

Oh, and the answer to that question? College. Yep, yep. Feeling nothing. Team no sleep. Kinda numb. Coffee running through my veins. Sweatpants all day, everyday. It really does things to you…..

tapsvihar

11. I have time to work on building my audience. I’ve been slacking lately and I feel like my blog has come to somewhat of a stat-standstill, so it’ll be nice to dedicate some time to gaining exposure again. It takes a chunk of time and effort to create and manage a blog, and I don’t want to be that person that gives up when time gets tough! I, no, more like WE, will work through this. I have a good feeling.

craptelly9.gif

12. I’m learning to be much more independent and actually relishing in the independence. I think after a breakup, it’s best to learn how to focus on yourself and what you need to personally accomplish, and I feel like I’m doing that successfully lately. Sometimes I do need to turn my attention to myself and figure out what I want in order to prioritize my own dreams for the future.

Jared-Padalecki-Sam-Winchester-Supernatural-GIF-Happy-Birthday-I-Feel-Good

13. Everything feels like it’s falling into place. There are times in all of our lives when we feel fluctuation, when things get bad, get a little bit better, but then revert back to what we’ve been dreading. Lately, though, things are looking up. I feel like I’m cultivating a lot of positivity and I hope to maintain this positive outlook for the remainder of the year, and hopefully extend it beyond that. I can honestly say that I feel good, both physically and mentally. Things are looking up (knock on wood).

So now it’s your turn. Go ahead, tell me.

What are you thankful for this Thanksgiving?

Sassy Saturday: Brights and Fall Style Highlights

sassy saturday

I am not one to follow seasonal trends as I don’t have the money and patience to research and coordinate/purchase my outfits to conform to what is believed to be “Fall ready” wardrobe. Sure, I like fall style, comfy sweaters, messy buns, accessorized with pumpkin spice (*barf* why?!) cups of coffee (who doesn’t love that? I mean….the coffee thing. Not the pumpkin spice. Again, barf.). I am all for comfortable and cute, but what college student has the means to buy a new wardrobe for every season? That is why I recycle and restyle my outfits based on the season. If it’s hot, which it inevitably always is except for the couple of days in Florida when we have what is widely known as, and forgive me if I am using the wrong term, “winter”. “Winter” is it? I don’t really know. Regardless, this Sassy Saturday will be all about what I enjoy during the fall, style wise and whatever else.

free-people-cascata-delle-maxi-cardigan-grey-combo-profile

One staple that I love year round but especially in the fall is the amazing maxi cardigan style. Ah, it’s gorgeous! I think it also helps even out all the short little dresses in my closet. When I wear something short, I like to balance it out with a cardigan that is significantly longer. Plus, it ends up making me look longer and taller, too, which is always a plus! However, so far, I’ve only found three maxi cardigans that fit the specific criteria of what I like. I want them to be matchable but not black preferably, patterns are a plus, and colors are crucial but if they’re done in a creative, tasteful way. I don’t want to go out looking like I upchucked a super sized bag of skittles onto myself.

090111-boots-slouchy-lead-400

This is also the ideal time to temporarily bring out the boots in my closet that are so tall they make my calves sweat on a regular Florida day. They’re beautiful, but are they appropriate for 95 degree weather? Not a chance in hell. I’m thinking maybe when I come home for a break I’ll gather up my boots and bring them back with me to celebrate the couple days of cold I’m hoping we’ll receive in the coming weeks! Wearing slouchy boots with dresses AND cardigans is about as wonderful as Fall style can get, and if you haven’t tried it yet, you basically haven’t lived. So please bring out the pairing for yourself and realize the beauty and functionality that it holds in this moderate weather!

legwarmers

Next up is the fad of leg warmers, which I currently don’t own but am secretly begging to try. Do they really keep your legs warm, and do I really need to be warmer than I already am for fashion sense? I think they look a bit silly and impractical with heels, but wouldn’t mind trying them with some boots. Maybe, just maybe, I will give them a chance this Fall, but I think they are very cute. I think I’d find myself wearing them at home more than anything because nothing says cozy like socks for your legs. Or something.

Ever since I began my Tumblr all over again (for the blog), I came to realize how much I love brightly colored lipsticks, even the ones with the unconventional colors. I don’t know if I’d have the balls to go out with blue lips, but I have the temptation to try. For heaven’s sake, I’ve already bought a teal wig. Might as well give blue lips a shot, too. I’m still considering it, really. But I feel like this trend is rising, maybe even beyond Fall. I’ve seen quite a few divas lately working bright lips with their subtle Fall get ups and it feels inspiring. I feel like my problem with typical Fall-wear is that so much of it is dark and neutral. Blah. But with these lips? There’d be nothing dreary about any outfit! If I muster up the courage, I promise you guys will be the very first ones to know of my breakthrough!

$(KGrHqN,!q8E+0VpNY5GBQKirui!Jg~~60_35

And finally we have beanies! Beanies in every color, size, and texture! This is the one accessory I am tempted to basically pair with anything in any season, just because it’s such a cute, spunky addition to any look. Plus my style is very ambiguous. I have dominantly feminine pieces with dominantly masculine pieces. I pair my combat boots with my ruffled dresses. I like my style to be as spontaneous and quirky (I couldn’t find a more suited word, so I dearly apologize) as I am, and beanies add that kind of artistic flair that I desire in my outfits. Plus, if you’re having a bad hair day, they are quite possibly the best way to make it look like you’re going for something “effortlessly sporty” and secretly help tame the knotted beast if need be. When my hair gets rugged, a beanie will always be my go-to, and if I don’t have a beanie, well, I guess leaving the house just isn’t an option. Let’s hope it’s not an exam day

What Fall styles would you like to try this season, and which styles make you want to ditch the sweater weather for good?

Would you try some unconventional lip colors to spice up your look?

Whatcha Wearing, Mandirito?: My Super Sweet Saturday Style! (MOTD!)

IMG_1089.JPG

My sweet Saturday look consists of a very girly ensemble (especially for me!). I managed to take some time out of my relaxing weekend morning to create the perfect curl with only one burn to endure (which is an extreme success, as I am often burning myself at least 5 times due to the fact that I find curling wands awkward to hold). To get this curl, I used my wonderful Conair Infiniti Pro You Curl Curling Wand, which has proved its worth time and time again! It only took around 30 minutes or so to finish and perfect my hair in this look, but it would take much less time if you’re not a wookie like me. Hair to style is something that I don’t have a shortage of. I would suggest this curling wand to anyone that is a styling noob like me that is looking to gain some experience styling their own hair or wants a pretty sick burn that they can talk about at parties.

conair-infiniti-you-curl-tourmaline-ceramic-styler-278x278

If you’re interested in purchasing this wand for any of the stated and possible reasons, Target sells it for only $20.99, which is a steal for the results you get from this wand! I would recommend it for anyone who’s budget conscious but still wants to look like a million bucks!

I always do my hair first because I don’t like the feeling of my hair sticking to the foundation on my face while I’m styling. It makes me crazy. With that being said, I finished my curling job and used one of my all-time favorite hair sprays, one that I fairly recently reviewed, the Guardian Angel Frizz Protect Studio Size Hairspray by Got2B, which is sold at Ulta quite affordably.

B001F51TBI_olay_201307051_4627

The next step is always to put on sunscreen, because I live in Florida where it is hot even on overcast days. I prefer to use Olay Complete All Day Moisturizer with SPF 15 or SPF 30 (both work well!) because it’s not super greasy and still gets the job done. However, recently I ran out of Olay and have been using regular sunscreen (Coppertone Sport), which makes the foundation look a little more greasy than normal, but still protects my skin. I wouldn’t go a day without putting on some sort of skin protection. It’s important to realize that even when we are indoors, if we’re sitting next to a window, we can experience skin damage. Plus, it only takes an extra minute or two to apply some sunscreen, and ultimately who doesn’t want to look good when they’re 40 and up?

11133422

When the sunscreen has dried, I use Maybelline’s Fit Me Foundation, #235. I’ve been using this same foundation for a while now and it “fits me” like a charm! I use my Sonia Kashuk brush set to perfect this layer before I go on to a light powder that sets the foundation. After my skin routine has been completed, I advance to the best part: adding color!

Wet-n-Wild-Coloricon-Bronzer

I find that eyeshadows, bronzers, lipsticks, and blushes make for a brighter, more vibrant face. I used my favorite bronzer, Wet n Wild Color Icon Bronzer with SPF 15 in #739 (“Ticket to Brazil”). For under $5, you can get the look of a two-week vacation on the beach without all the sun damage, which is a win-win for beauty product lovers everywhere. I try to keep the bronzer to a minimal color to ensure that the color still looks natural and I don’t look like I suffered an unsuccessful spray tan.

e.l.f.-Studio-Endless-Eyes-Pro-Eyeshadow-Palette-390x390

I used my e.l.f. Endless Pro Eyeshadow Palette to give my eyes a bit of faded blue shimmer, creating an ombre effect from the lid to the brow. This palette has been an amazing purchase. I’ve had it for about a year now and haven’t even gotten to use all of the colors in it. It comes with 100 colors and only costs a mere $10. Yes, ONLY $10. That’s insanely good value for all of the color options you get. I bought mine at Target at the time, but I’m not sure if they still have it. Regardless, it is the same price when you purchase it directly from E.l.f.!

plumperfect

Last but not least, I used the new lipstick I recently purchased, Maybelline ColorSensational Lipcolor in Plum Perfect, #435. This color is the perfect transitioning shade between Summer and Fall and is equal parts plum and red. I’ve always been a red lipstick kind of gal (I’m addicted to the pop of color!), but have recently been turned on to the color of plum. I think it looks fabulous in contrast with olive/tan skin.

I hope you guys enjoyed my Makeup of the Day for this beautiful Saturday, and remember to be experimental in your look! Trying something new with makeup every time you apply it can give you a world of inspiration to define and redefine your look.

If you have any questions about the products or would like to leave a comment, please do so!

Mandirito’s Beauty Testimonials: I Have Found BorderLINE Perfection and it Goes by the Name of Maybelline New York Eye Studio!

Mandirito’s Beauty Breakdown: Maybelline New York’s Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner

Applying Eyeliner-3

From the mere age of 11 years old (many, many years ago), eyeliner has been a necessity to complete my everyday look. It’s actually the only thing I wear when I am keeping my face otherwise natural, besides my daily SPF 30 by Neutrogena. So naturally, I’ve been in search of the best one I could afford to buy regularly if need be. In addition, I had several issues with the eyeliners I had been using that I was hoping could be addressed more efficiently by a better product from a different brand:

liner2

1. Most of the eyeliners I had been using were in a pencil format which you’d think would be helpful in order to draw in an even line around or above both eyes. It was helpful for that purpose, but if I were to carry it around in my purse, I would need a sharpener as well, along with an accessible garbage can wherever I was going. It’s a hassle to have to sharpen them almost every time in order to get a clean line.

51837801

2. Eyeliners smear like face paint within an hour of applying them, and I think that’s also due to my mixed/oily skin. It’s inevitable. I don’t want to have to sit with a mirror in front of my face to make sure that my makeup isn’t running in places that it doesn’t belong. Does anyone, really?

image

3. There are variations of colors for basic, everyday eyeliners but I could never find one that didn’t look like mime makeup when applied because the shade was so harsh in contrast with my olive skin and blue/green eyes. You know, the deep, intense blacks and “browns” that also look pretty dark… those don’t work very well on me. I don’t want to look like I got my face painted, and I doubt that that’s the ultimate point. It’s about enhancing the natural features of the individual using the product, not drawing them on.

After many trials and errors, I came across what I thought was going to be another cosmetic failure. I was pleasantly surprised to know that this wasn’t the case for the first time in a very long while! I had come across it while browsing my local Target’s extensive makeup aisle and thought it would be a great opportunity to try something new for a change. When I arrived at home, I had immediately removed it from the package and was confused for a moment, as it had two parts: a brush and a container with solid pigment. It felt so foreign. But then I realized that the brush was meant to dip in the little glass container in order to apply the makeup, and that the brush itself wasn’t the product, a fair assumption for a pencil user.

IMG_0599

Pictured above: Maybelline New York’s EyeStudio Gel Liner in Brown on yours truly!

The Verdict: I had worn the new eyeliner during the entirety of a busy, nonstop day running around with the little kids I was taking care of, and not only did it stay put just as I had applied it that morning, but it was as vibrant and untouched as the moment I had put it on! It’s a miracle product for someone like me who loves subtle-colored eyeliner that makes your eyes pop rather than detracts from their natural hues. I got the eyeliner in brown, but there are grays and blacks available as well for those of you who prefer the greyscale. I find that the brown, whether applied more intensely or less intensely, meshes well with my skin tone and brings forward the color of my eyes. No other eyeliner could even compare to Maybelline New York’s Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Liner! I’d recommend it to everyone and their sister!

Sassy Saturdays!!: The Cravings of Week One!

sassysaturdays-mandirito

This week has been a productive one to say the least. It’s been all studying, organizing, preparing for finals, projects, and the occasional drop in on my WordPress to inform you guys that I am still alive, and to not worry. My homework hasn’t swallowed me up just yet! (hope I don’t jinx it!) As for these faux nails that I was so excited about, my heart has once again been crushed by their unreliability, because today, one of the nails came right off. I thought they were going to last at least the whole week! And of course, OUT OF ALL FINGERS, it’s the index, which looks super awkward.

Anywho! Today I am going to start a series called “Sassy Saturdays!” where I express the things that caught my attention this week! This week has been all about grunge and outfit diversity.

Black-Leather-Jackets-for-Women-2014-Pics

Source: http://freetopone.com/black-leather-jackets.html

I came across the women’s leather jackets page on this website and it reminded me of that uber successful haul that I had at Goodwill recently (you know, the one that I never showed you guys…. :c   ). However, I had promised you guys that I would release that haul video, and my iMovie decided otherwise and deleted the whole completed video for sh*ts and grins. I was so pissed. Regardless, though, it was a successful shopping trip, and this jacket is straight up gorgeous and reminds me of one of the ones I bought. I’ve always loved the look of a crisp leather jacket, but it’s difficult to find one that follows the criteria that I obsess over, which is as follows:

1. Fits my dimensions perfectly (or close enough). I’m not into the whole “baggy leather jacket” deal. Not my thing.

2. Is long enough to reach my hips. Short jackets look strange.

3. MOST IMPORTANTLY, fits within my budget. And leather is NEVER cheap, hence the whole buying secondhand leather thing

image

This leads me into my eternal obsession with Dr. Martens combat boots. They’re a total godsend, but can rip your wallet right out of your pocket if you get too close. Well, not literally, but the price tags might make you blind. And very sad. I could never afford these boots at retail price, but I gaze at them lovingly from afar and hope that one day I will be able to afford another pair, a new pair, maybe with a cute pattern.

However, I did get super lucky about two years ago and found a practically new pair, IN MY SIZE, for 10 dollars. Yes, 10 dollars. It was a miracle. I don’t even know how I ended up in the right place at the right time, but they’re one of the best investments I’ve ever made. I think that was part of what got me started with my love for the brand, and this week, I saw so many cute ones online that I couldn’t afford as a college student and I had such a heavy feeling in my stomach. Ahh, the day will come, one day…These burgundy ones are bomb, though, but then again, so are the rest of the boots.

Doc-Martensdrmartenskittybootslargemsg1270232535432343927-p-MULTIVIEW

I’d take any of these though, quite frankly.

Please, please, please.

Another style that I’ve been enjoying this week is the use of cutouts on women’s attire, which I think is so cute. Unfortunately, though, when I say cutouts, people think this is what I mean:

po6c43-l

The answer is no. This isn’t it. How do you even wear underwear with this crap? Don’t answer that. I don’t care about the answer, honestly. I enjoy leaving things to the imagination.

I mean something more like this:

kassia

Modest, tasteful cutouts in vibrant colors and textures. Pleats, too! Yes! There’s something super cute about pleated skirts and dressed that aren’t of the uniform variety. This dress is simply perfect, and I feel like it would be suitable for any body type because it accommodates hips or no hips. Although it isn’t as grungy as I’d like it to be, I’d love to able to pair this with a great, dark leather jacket.

It was difficult to narrow it down to these three pieces (ONLY THREE), but they were definitely eye-catchers for me this week. I am definitely feeling the grunge look nowadays! So many individualized power outfits to be made with these looks! I definitely thing they deserved the spotlight of the day.

Hope you guys are having a good one, and I’ll be continuing to do this series every Saturday (starting today!!), so stay tuned!

Love and happiness,

Mandy

Reasons Why I’m Not Afraid of Looking Like a Skyscraper

I’ve heard, countless times, the whispers behind women’s backs as they wear their highest heels to maybe some of the most unconventional places. And you know what I say to that? If you feel sexy, do it. If it’s the least bit acceptable, it’s still acceptable. Do it. I can’t stress this enough. Don’t be afraid to be tall. These are my personal reasons why I am always ready to rock some killer shoes.

1. I feel sexy being tall. As an already tall girl, heels bring it a step further. I was blessed (and I say blessed because I certainly don’t see it as a curse!) with height on my own but I’ve been told that heels make me “runway worthy”. I am so not questioning it.

2. Being dressed how you wish exudes confidence. I’m confident, but with a great pair of eye-popping stilettos, I’m basically unstoppable. If it makes me feel good to wear it, I’m going to wear it with or without the approval of others. Watch out. Confidence ahead.

3. Dresses with heels make me feel uber feminine. I don’t always get dressed up really girly (because I like to pair my edginess with my feminine side), but when I do, I’m going all the way. Occasionally I like to look like a cupcake, you know?
