You Are Loved

People will tell you that you should never base your self-worth on those that surround you, because there will be times when they will let you down and times they will take a shot at your feelings due to their own circumstances, and your first assumption will be that it is because YOU are not worth their time, or YOU are not worth their effort. It’s difficult to not let how others treat you affect the way you perceive yourself. Recent events have let those kinds of destructive thoughts creep into my own head, which I had persistently blocked for a very long time. I began thinking that I wasn’t worth the time, the effort, the sacrifice, the love, the respect, and the understanding it takes to be in a relationship, a friendship, anything. The issue is that the negative forces in our lives take so much of a toll on us personally that they end up overwhelming the positive forces, and I can’t believe that I didn’t acknowledge this when it happened in my own life recently. I know that I am worth so much more than I have been given credit for in the past. I am not my unhappy experiences, my failures, my pain, my sadness, my inabilities, my projected worth…I am so much more.

That is why I believe that you are good enough, too. You may have had a horrible day, week, even year. But you know what? Things are going to get better, for both you and I. I may not even know you, but I can tell you that you can’t base your perception of YOUR worth on how people treat you. People are selfish and sometimes they don’t even mean to be. But they can be, and sometimes they are. Who’s to say that the way they conduct their lives and treat others reflects how you should be treated and how much you’re worth as an individual? You’re not a toy that they can just play with when they’ve got a moment to spare, and then put on the shelf. You’re not their pet, relying on them for the quality of your own life. You are a person with feelings, ambitions, vulnerabilities in combination with strengths. You’re unique in all aspects of your life and there will never be someone just like you, someone rich in the qualities that you possess in the exact same way. So you know what? Ditch the negative people, the hurtful memories, the times you’ve fallen on your face so hard you thought you’d never get back up, the underestimations people have of you, the disappointment people in their own lives that has somehow been projected upon your own life… Forget how people have made you feel. You’re incredible, and you deserve to be happy. Don’t let anyone take that happiness, that ability to feel alive and love yourself and the world around you, away from you. You deserve to be happy, fulfilled, and excited about your life, and those who don’t agree, don’t deserve to be a part of YOU.

You’re incredible, and no matter who you are, where you are, how people have hurt you in the past, what you think you’re worth, if I know you or not, you deserve to be happy and you are loved. Tremendously, genuinely, honestly, respectfully…

You are loved.

Feast Your Eyes on Ipsy’s October “Beauty Candy” Makeup Bag: A Beauty Product Review

I don’t know about you but as a busy college student living hours away from the people I have grown close with, I’m taken aback by receiving mail, even summaries from my bank, because receiving mail regularly has always escaped me. A day that I receive anything in that little mailbox of mine is a thrill ride. So when I received my nail jewels that I had ordered what feels like years ago (traveling from China takes longer than I could ever imagine for something so small!) and my Ipsy makeup bag package for October, I was at a loss for words. Pure, radiating joy! Not only was I feeling the love (from myself, as I was the one that had ordered these fabulous things, for myself obviously!), but there’s a feeling of satisfaction knowing that I’m going to have some new colors and products to show off in the coming week. I’ve gotten significantly more interested in exploring makeup, hair treatments, and nail art this year, so my Ipsy subscription allows me to explore my beauty tool options without having to shell out every last dollar in my wallet. It’s actually pretty affordable when you realize how much each product is when you buy them separately. It gives me the chance to essentially try new looks and products “guilt free”, and I have a subscription for a whole year paid off, so I have ten more months of pretty things just itching to get to my mailbox next!

This month, I received 5 products! Yes, 5! I love when they load up my bag like they did this month. My initial thought was to not get too excited because on Instagram, quite a few people were complaining about getting hair and skin products when they had explicitly requested not to. I am one of those people that generally sticks to my ways when it comes to lotions and cleansers, so I agree with not wanting to waste a sample on either one of these categories. When I opened to metallic pink shipping package, there was my beautiful new makeup bag. This makeup bag was much less “cheap looking” than the one from last month (I wasn’t impressed with the bag the products came in last month, but that didn’t hold me back from loving what I received regardless!), and had this really pretty texturized, quilted blue print. I love the color and I love the way the bag feels! I was immediately drawn to the whole look and feel of it.

When I opened the bag, like I said, I had 5 different products to check out. I received a Doll 10 Highlighter, a VolumEyes Mascara Sample, a City Color Be Matte Lipstick, a Figs & Rouge Hand Cream in Mango Mandarin, and a sample package of Skyn Glacial Cleansing Cloths. In order to give you a full idea of what I received this month, I will review each product individually.

Doll 10 Highlighter

21lZlcul39L

I was extremely excited about this product. I’ve just recently taken up the art of face contouring and am continuing to research it and advance my skills (it’s definitely a process, especially for someone like me who, until recently, knew very little about how to use makeup to its fullest potential). When I opened this, however, I was a bit disheartened by the subtlety of it at first swab. When I brushed my finger across the surface, the pigment was practically invisible. When I contour, I like to be able to see how the makeup changes the look, especially when I highlight. If I’m going to highlight my cheek bones, I want there to be a difference when I apply the makeup or there’s no reason to apply it. When I applied it, although it took several strokes of the palette, it did end up having a pretty, dewey finish. The finished product wasn’t as monumentally great as I thought it would be, but I could see this product coming to good use at some point. It still has a good amount of usage potential. What I also noticed, too, which others may or may not mind, was that the highlighter wasn’t as creamy as I thought it would be. I usually use fairly creamy highlighters but this one is reminiscent of the texture of cream eyeshadow. It’s going to take some getting used to.

This product is a bit on the pricier side (it’s $30 on the website), but if you’d like to try it out for yourself, CLICK HERE.

VolumEyes Mascara Sample

I don’t have a fight to pick with this one. It does its job well. The volume of my eyelashes is much, much brighter and more defined than I thought it would be. I wish this product wasn’t a sample, but regardless, once I run out, I’ll be heading out to the store to give it another go. I’m not as picky about mascaras because as long as they don’t make my eyes feel like they’ve caught on fire every time the crumbs tumble into my eyes, I feel like they’re serving their purpose. That is, if they make me look like minnie mouse. Having a nice pair of thick eyelashes has been a long-time dream of mine, so I don’t protest to trying new products that will give me this effect. VolumEyes is a keeper!

City Color Be Matte Lipstick in Cappuccino

Screen Shot 2014-10-20 at 4.05.26 PM

Gosh, I wish I loved this lipstick more than I do. Lipstick is my thing. I love trying out new colors, bold shades that contrast with my clothes…A great lipstick can tie together any outfit perfectly. But this lipstick…This shade in particular has become really popular recently, as my sister had mentioned that Kylie Jenner had set off a coffee/nude lip craze. This color is just that. It’s very pretty in the tube, but I’m not sure of how I feel about it when it’s actually on my mouth. The problem is that, when I put my bronzer on, this lipstick makes me look like I legitimately have a nonexistent pucker. Like someone carved a hole where my mouth is supposed to be and left the lips unfinished. My lips are really thin as is…I’m trying to stay open to the idea of wearing a somewhat nude lip, and I will give this one another chance, but part of me wishes that they’d throw in a berry shade instead. Berry is more my scene, or actually red. Red would be exquisite.

Figs & Rouge Hand Cream in Mango Mandarin

Figs__amp__Rouge_Mango__amp__Mandarin_Shea_Butter_Hand_Cream_20ml___feelunique_com_Exclusive_1403779663

Ah, I did not want skin products. At all. On a scale from one to ten on how much I desire to smother myself in new skin creams, 1 being a firm “no” and 10 being a “grabby-handed” yes, I’d be a -5. NEGATIVE. FIVE. I didn’t want skin cream!

Despite my initial disappointment, however, the bottle of this lotion caught my eye immediately. It’s really cute and colorful. I wanted to give it a shot anyway. The smell is airy and light, which I love, and I have to say that it will suffice. If I were guaranteed to get a hand cream, I wouldn’t mind getting this one. I just have too many lotions, scrubs, and creams at home to even bother buying more. Berry lipstick, I still want you in my life.

Skyn Iceland Glacial Cleansing Cloths

product_36_0

Recently I had come to the conclusion that I was tired of using a scrub and astringent nightly to manage my skin and remove the makeup aftermath of the day. It burns (because of the condition of my acne), it gets dry, and it’s uncomfortable for at least a few minutes afterwards. I was on the verge of going to Target that afternoon when I received this package. I think it might’ve actually been destiny when I received the Skyn Cloths. They remove 90% of the makeup on their own, which says a lot because when I do makeup, it tends to stick to my skin like cement. These cleansing cloths do a beautiful job of cleaning up my skin and leaving the skin feeling fresh and actually clean. Granted I do still wash my skin with water afterwards because I am paranoid, but this sample was very impressive. It was only a sample, too, but came with a total of 10 cloths, which is a great deal for a sample! Samples, if you’re lucky, have just enough to get the job done once, but I think I’m equipped for the rest of the week! It’ll actually give me enough time to buy some on my own, now that I know what I’m looking for.

If you’d like to try these out, because they’re awesome, CLICK HERE.

I hope you guys enjoyed my review on the Ipsy bag I received for the month of October! If you can, I’d really appreciate if you give me a moment of your time and respond to the poll below.

If you have any other comments, feel more than welcome to comment on this post!

Have a beautiful day, lovelies! xo

Love Is…

…Giving me a bite of your burrito bowl when I know you’re internally begging me to decline.

…Donating the one napkin you have at the dinner table at a restaurant to your messy partner.

…Leaving notes around the house that make me equal parts endeared and nauseous.

…Handling my heart as gently as if it were your own.

…Setting all aside to hear what I have to say, even if it’s not in your favor and it’s not what you want to hear.

…Pushing yourself to force a laugh out of your partner even at the expense of your dignity in public.

…Cooking a meal that you know will cut into your Netflix time so I can come home to a meal on the table.

…Smiling for me when I feel like the weight of my day has left me with a permanent frown.

…Kissing me on the nose or forehead when I’m feeling as if I have been emotionally abandoned by those who surround me.

…Sharing something that’s only meant for one, just because you know that it can be split between two.

…Making promises and consciously exceeding them because you can.

…Dreaming about the future with me because you know that I’m a dreamer.

…Bringing forward your playful side to expose your partner’s inner child in times when I feel like I can’t get out of my head.

…Using your two hands and hugging me in a way that makes me feel like I’m engulfed in your embrace.

…Initiating a late-night call to reiterate what the day had to offer, but to ultimately tell your partner that they are what you still dream about.

…Knowing when to end an argument and settle at your differences.

…Determining a positive approach in the shadow of negativity.

…Choosing to cherish your partner’s flaws as if they were their perfections.

…Being a best friend and lover all perfectly wrapped into one kindhearted, genuine entity.

What is love to you?

5 Lessons I’ve Personally Learned From Being in a Legitimately Serious Relationship

I’ve come up with a list of 5 important lessons I’ve realized in the light of a serious relationship (Oh, and enjoy the gifs/pictures for emphasis).

May the truth set you free.

great

1. You’re gonna see a lot more out of your partner than you do in the “honeymoon phase”, the good, the bad, and the straight-up ugly. During that phase, you guys will be pulling chairs and opening doors like there’s no tomorrow, but of course, as time goes on, it will be accompanied by the occasional air-ripping burp. It’s inevitable. Welcome it with open arms because it will come barging through the door with or without your welcome sign. This is when you will rationally realize that we are all human, even your boyfriend!

tumblr_lmsmz3MZyX1qgvb3l

2. You’re going to fight. You’re gonna have the kind of fights that are going to make you want to rip your partner’s hair out from the scalp sometimes, and it’s normal. Yes, I repeat. It is a normal thing. It’s overwhelmingly boring to be with someone exactly like you with your exact same opinions, but what comes with differences comes arguing sometimes. It’s a worthy trade, trust me. Opinionated people are a treat to be around, whether they agree with your love for religiously watching Pretty Little Liars or not.

my-face-when

3. Being close with your significant other’s parents creates a world of good within your relationship (that is, if they actually like you). Not only can you rely on them to help you plan surprises for your love, but in my traditional little way of thinking, they are part of the approval process if a couple wants to take their relationship to the next level (their opinions in your relationship matter, too!). Why not start from the top, right? Plus, who knows your man and all of his strange quirks better than they do? They can show you all of his cutest, most horrifying pictures from his childhood AND treat him to a sweet dose of reality if he won’t listen to your word and needs an uninhibited opinion. It’s a two-for-one deal.

4. Holding on to anger is a double-ended sword. You spend all this time letting an issue fester within your mind and build up to tremendous heights, and then your partner ends up dealing with the blown-out-of-proportion version that has swallowed the truth and spit it out into something it clearly wasn’t before. It started as an annoyance that he canceled plans one night, and ended up being interpreted as an exclamation of hatred that resulted in your partner canceling all of your plans together because you claim he’d rather spend some time with anyone but you (which is kinda ridiculous, seeing as how he is romantically entangled with you). *shrugs* By the end point, you don’t even know what you were truly and originally angry about. Keeping communication lines open prevents the bullcrap of reiterating an, at this point irrelevant and unnecessary, problem.

auto-memes-willywonka-relationship-199284

5. Enjoy every moment. I’m feeling like I’m bringing up a hardcore cliche right here, but hear me out. Every unexpected bump in the road is a test for your relationship to overcome, and each time it does, the reality hits that your partner wants this just as much as you do, which is one of the best feelings in the entire world. Don’t take a single moment for granted. This is your free pass to be disgustingly sweet (emphasis on the disgusting part) with your significant other. Go ahead and post a ten page love letter on Facebook. He deserves the affectionate embarrassment haunting his news feed as a reminder for months to come of all the weird TMI stuff you love about him. In some other dimension, he may be highly appreciative of this much needed public announcement of overemphasized, stomach-churning adoration.

10 Songs Running Continuously Through My Mind This Week

1. Magic! – “Rude”

MAGIC-Rude-2013-1200x1200

I love the electronic reggae (weird combination, right? BUT IT WORKS SO WELL) feeling of this song, and the meaning of it hits home in several ways….It’s a very sweet song. He’s going the traditional route and asking the father for his daughter’s hand in marriage, gets rejected for permission to marry her, but refuses to back down. This is how I’d hope it’d be if it were come to that cirumstance. Love should not be stopped by outside forces if it’s strong enough standing on its own.

“Saturday morning jumped out of bed and put on my best suit
Got in my car and raced like a jet, all the way to you
Knocked on your door with heart in my hand
To ask you a question
‘Cause I know that you’re an old fashioned man yeah yeah

‘Can I have your daughter for the rest of my life? Say yes, say yes
‘Cause I need to know
You say I’ll never get your blessing till the day I die
Tough luck my friend but the answer is no!

Why you gotta be so rude?
Don’t you know I’m human too
Why you gotta be so rude
I’m gonna marry her anyway”

2. Birdy – “Not About Angels”

500x500

Birdy has one of the most extraordinary voices I’ve heard yet, and her songs always have such a deep, heartfelt meaning. The combination of her voice and the thought that goes into her songs could easily induce tears. Absolutely beautiful.

“We know full well there’s just time
So is it wrong to toss this line?
If your heart was full of love
Could you give it up?
‘Cause what about, what about angels?
They will come, they will go, make us special
Don’t give me up
Don’t give…
Me up
How unfair, it’s just our love
Found something real that’s out of touch
But if you’d searched the whole wide world
Would you dare to let it go?
‘Cause what about, what about angels?
They will come, they will go, make us special
Don’t give me up
Don’t give…
Me up
‘Cause what about, what about angels?
They will come, they will go, make us special
It’s not about not about angels, angels”

3. Hoodie Allen – “No Interruption”

527316_10150639893703314_34132013313_9417610_1157696788_n

I love the aggressive, taking absolutely no crap feel of this song. I recently got into Hoodie and this song is a no-brainer when I’m making playlists from now on. He’s got an interesting style. I’m not usually into rap, but he’s one of the few exceptions.

“Imma do shit that just piss them off
Say you never heard me it’s your loss.
They bitin’ on my freestyles.
They tell me make my money
Frontin’ on that weed style.
I tell ‘em I be too old for it
And I gave my brother my ID.
She independent but these bitches never find me.
I hope they don’t find him, though.
‘Cause they be knocking on my door
Now they looking through my window.
Tell me what you really want from me,
Point blank no discussion.
Close mouth, close mouth, ow.
I give it to you No Interruption.
And tell me one time that you want me.
I promise that I won’t say nothing.
Shi-shut it up, shi-shi-shut it up.
I’ll give it to ya, No Interruption.”

4. Sia – “Chandelier”

sia chandlier square flat_0

Her voice in this song is so raspy and sexy! (Am I right?!) I thought this was originally by Rihanna, because she sounded somewhat similar, but as I listened to it more, I figured it out on my own that it wasn’t her. I think the song is one of those that brings to light that you should live life to the fullest and not give up when times get tough (at least that’s how I interpret it). It’s a chill, pretty sounding song. She’s got a powerful voice!

“Throw ’em back ’til I lose count
I’m gonna swing from the chandelier, from the chandelier
I’m gonna live like tomorrow doesn’t exist
Like it doesn’t exist
I’m gonna fly like a bird through the night, feel my tears as they dry
I’m gonna swing from the chandelier, from the chandelier
But I’m holding on for dear life, won’t look down, won’t open my eyes
Keep my glass full until morning light, ’cause I’m just holding on for tonight
Help me, I’m holding on for dear life, won’t look down, won’t open my eyes
Keep my glass full until morning light, ’cause I’m just holding on for tonight
On for tonight”

5. Sia – “I’m In Here”

unnamed (1)

This was the very first song I heard by Sia, and I fell completely in love. When I heard “Chandelier”, I didn’t realize it was also Sia! You learn something new every day! This song is horribly sad, but it’s relatable. There are times when we all feel like we aren’t being heard and feel almost isolated from the rest of the world, begging for someone to acknowledge who we are, and that we’re still there. Another song where her voice pulls the weight of the song so victoriously.

“I’m in here, can anybody see me?

Can anybody help?
I’m in here, a prisoner of history
Can anybody help?

Can’t you hear my call?
Are you coming to get me now?
I’ve been waiting for you to come rescue me
I need you to hold
All of the sadness I can not, living inside of me

I’m in here, I’m trying to tell you something
Can anybody help?
I’m in here, I’m calling out but you can’t hear
Can anybody help?

Can’t you hear my call?
Are you coming to get me now?
I’ve been waiting for you to come rescue me
I need you to hold
All of the sadness I can not, living inside of me

I’m crying out, I’m breaking down
I am fearing it all, stuck inside these walls
Tell me there is hope for me
Is anybody out there listening?

Can’t you hear my call?
Are you coming to get me now?
I’ve been waiting for you to come rescue me
I need you to hold
All of the sadness I can not, living inside of me

Can’t you hear my call?
Are you coming to get me now?
I’ve been waiting for you to come rescue me
I need you to hold
All of the sadness I can not, living inside of me

I’m in here, can anybody see me?

Can anybody help?”

6. Imagine Dragons – “Nothing Left to Say”

maxresdefault

This song projects the thought that one should keep moving forward and not look back on their past. Looking forward gives hope for a better future. Imagine Dragons was one of the very best concerts I’ve been to! They actually sound better live than they do on the cd, which is a refreshing thing!

“Who knows how long
I’ve been awake now?
The shadows on my wall don’t sleep
They keep calling me
Beckoning…
Who knows what’s right?
The lines keep getting thinner
My age has never made me wise
But I keep pushing on and on and on and on”

7. Christina Perri – “Human”

christina-perri-human-650-430

The radio, unfortunately, has latched on to this little number which totally sucks, but it’s a fantastic song! This song reminds me of when I’m having a rough day and I feel like everything is working against me, so I fake a smile and try to get through it without breaking down. I thought the line about being a “good machine” was absolutely perfect and relevant.

“I can hold my breath
I can bite my tongue
I can stay awake for days
If that’s what you want
Be your number one

I can fake a smile
I can force a laugh
I can dance and play the part
If that’s what you ask
Give you all I am

I can do it
I can do it
I can do it

But I’m only human
And I bleed when I fall down
I’m only human
And I crash and I break down
Your words in my head, knives in my heart
You build me up and then I fall apart
‘Cause I’m only human”

8. Say Anything – “Alive with the Glory of Love”

download

Let’s just say I’ve liked (LOVED) Say Anything for a very, very, very long time. Just perfect. This is like the music from my middle school years that I want to hold onto forever. One of the first songs that seriously meant something to me was by Say Anything!!

“When I watch you, I wanna do you right where you’re standing (yeah)
Right on the foyer, on this dark day, right in plain view (oh yeah)
Of the whole ghetto. The boots stomp meadows, but we ignore that (yeah)
You’re lovely, baby. This war is crazy. I won’t let you down (Oh no no)

No, I won’t let them take you, won’t let them take you
Hell no no, oh no, I won’t let them take you, won’t let them take you
Hell no no.

No, oh no no no!

And when our city, vast and shitty, falls to the axis (yeah)
They’ll search the buildings, collect gold fillings, wallets and rings (oh yeah)
But Ms. Black Eyeliner, you’d look finer with each day in hiding (oh yeah)
Beneath the wormwood, oooh, love me so good.
They won’t hear us screw away the day. I’ll make you say:

(Alive! Alive!
Alive with love, alive with love tonight)

No, I won’t let them take you, won’t let them take you
Hell no no, oh no, I won’t let them take you, won’t let them take you
Hell no no.”

9. Lee Brice – “I Drive Your Truck”

IDriveYourTruck

The first time I heard this song, I totally bawled! I’ll admit it! It’s such a sad but sentimental song. Give it a listen (and bring some tissues).

“I drive your truck
I roll every window down
And I burn up
Every back road in this town
I find a field, I tear it up
Til all the pain’s a cloud of dust
Yeah, sometimes I drive your truck

I leave that radio playing
That same ole country station where ya left it
Yeah, man I crank it up
And you’d probably punch my arm right now
If you saw this tear rollin’ down on my face
Hey, man I’m tryin’ to be tough
And momma asked me this morning
If I’d been by your grave
But that flag and stone ain’t where I feel you anyway”

10. 311 – “Two Drops in the Ocean”

unnamed

Such a chill song…I listen to this one on repeat and it never gets old.

“Thinking of you
It all comes in view
I believe we came from the same cloud
Two drops in the ocean
Tell me again
The story of when we..
..we will be together one day..We’re two of a kind
Forever we’ve been combined
Though the current will pull us apart
Two drops in the ocean
You are part of me
The other side of the sea
And we will be together one day..Hey hey
What can I say?
I swim your way
Though the tide pull us away
I ask you
What you gonna do?
Oceans apart
But I know no one else will do
Two drops in the ocean
Just go with the motion dearWe’ll meet again
From two rivers that dealt on two shore
Two drops in the oceanFall into me
Dissolve in the sea
The boundaries between, they are nothing
But love we have, the only real thing..yeahThere is a stone wall
Around your heart
Nothin left now to do but to start
Chippin away
Day by day
Until we see it break apart
Hear me talkin ’bout
Let it be known, it can be done
Bit by bit and one by one
If the two of us try from both the two sides
Until we see the sun
Your phenomenal

Two drops in the ocean
Just go with the motion..

A lot of fish in the sea..
..not for me
You’re somethin’ of a different kind
The rest evaporate, but you stay in my mind

There is a stone wall
Around your heart
Nothin left now to do but to start
Chippin away
Day by day
Until we see it break apart
Hear me talkin ’bout
Let it be known, it can be done
Bit by bit and one by one
If the two of us try
From both the two sides
Until we see the sun
Your phenomenal

Hey hey
What can I say?
I swim your way
Though the tide pull us away
I ask you
What you gonna do?
Oceans apart
But I know no one else will do
Two drops in the ocean
Just go with the motion
Two drops in the ocean dear..”

Arcade Epiphanies: Sometimes You Have to Regress to Progress

homepage_games

Tonight, instead of spending my night cuddling in bed with my boyfriend like we often do (as he is usually tired out from work, and so am I from busy days), we took a date trip out to Gameroom for a couple of hours. I haven’t felt that alive in a very long while. I had been stuck in a rut, spending the last few days essentially locked in my room, barely eating or moving in the hopes of getting ahead in my online classes in order to be able to successfully enjoy my upcoming week-long vacation that starts this weekend. Getting to go somewhere new with the person I love gave me such childlike (hence the reference to regressing!) wonder, and I am even more excited for our next date. To think that a trip to an arcade could be so thrilling and awakening to the heart! We were filled with laughter as we navigated through digital jungles with plastic, colored guns, and couldn’t keep our eyes off the neon puck as it passed from one side of the air hockey table to the other, sliding faster than we could follow, our eyes meeting, acknowledging the challenge. I think he needed that stress relief just as much as I did. It made me realize just how important it is to make time for me, too, when life is throwing curveballs and I’m starting to feel overwhelmed. Sometimes you just need to take a big step back.

As for you guys, try to break out of your habits. I know we all fall into habits and patterns that seem safe to us, but we need stimulation, at least from time to time, in order to remain happy. We need to discover, to create, to grow. Our world is full of new experiences, and there isn’t enough time for us to not give these opportunities a chance. Try something new tomorrow. Pick up a friend, your love, or an adventurous acquaintance and go somewhere you both haven’t been. The impact it has on your heart and mind, the thrill of new experiences, will probably astound you, too.

I watched this video today, and it got me thinking about random acts of kindness. If you can, each day, try to do at least one random act of kindness a day. It doesn’t have to be a big thing that you do (hold some doors, help someone carry their groceries!), but anything you do for another being counts! It will bring so much joy and fulfillment to your life to know that you were part of something much greater than just the self!

What random acts of kindness have you done today?
